In the middle of the rush for the filming of Breaking Dawn, the fourth film in the Twilight Saga, director Bill Condon gave a press conference on the afternoon of Monday (8) at Cine Roxy in Copacabana, south zone of Rio de Janeiro.

The director told to R7 that actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are adoring the affection of the fans.

- Both, me and they are adoring the affection of fans. By the way, I want you to say it to them. We are enjoying the warmth of the crowd and the city.

The director said the choice of the city as a location was stimulated by the Rio Film, co-producer of Breaking Dawn, who decided to include the state capital in the script of the story.

- Rio is a very vibrant place, so we decided that the city would be part in the film. We wanted this evident vibration (of the city and its people) in the movie. We did a scene in Lapa with characters, Edward [Pattinson] and Bella [Kristen], to show the real side of carioca (anything or anyone from Rio de Janeiro) culture.

... Condon also said that the aim of production was to find places, less stereotyped, not known or used on the screens. Therefore, there was the option for the Lapa and for the Bag of Mamanguá island in Paraty, on the southern coast of Rio, where the team should follow today.

The producer of the long, Wyck Godfrey, revealed that filming with the actors in Rio de Janeiro was already done. Sergio Sa Leitao, president of Rio Films, added that the staff of Breaking Dawn should be back to Rio just to make aerial images of the city.

Asked if the couple (of actors) had time to know the city, the director said the entire schedule was planned to focus on just shooting.

- The schedule is very tight, but we love what little we have seen and known. I discovered the Bossa Nova (one of the Brazilian music types), for example.

In the interview, the director also took criticism for the star Sylvester Stallone, who shot scenes of The Expendables in Brazil in 2009. The star spoke ill of the city.

- Forget Stallone. We loved the city and we will not get out of here speaking ill of Rio. I have an open invitation to attend the 2011 Rio Film Festival and surely I will be here.

Rio Films said the film crew will be ten days in Rio de Janeiro - they arrived on Friday (5) - but that will only be five days of filming. The remaining days will be to shift production and equipment.
